THE CIVIL WAR in the SOUTH WEST
takes place at PICACHO PEAK AZ State Park every March about the time the Mexican Poppies start showing up. Large crowds turn out to see the flowers and three battles, one skirmish which occured on the site at Picacho and then two other battle taken from New Mexico History, the Battle of Glorietta Pass and the Battle Val Verde, also in New Mexico.
