Each October members of the Catholic faith, usually Hispanic or Tohono Oodham, make the annual pilgrimage to Magdalena Sonora about 25 miles from the US-Mexico Border A carnival sets up around the church courtyard which also holds the grave of Padre Kino with a concrete/glass dome to allow the faithful to commune still with the good padre.
