For many Hopi, the BIA Indian School experience was not the most pleasant. It tore them from their land and their tribal responsibilities. It beat them for speaking their language, to day, the language is today spoken only by the elders. Efforts are being made to teach the Hopi language, a dictionary exists, and today there are schools on the reservation and the tribe hopes to start summer classes in HOPI.
